Dear Friends, This newsletter to my friends is long overdue. I have a lot of exciting news to share with you. The first of which is a position of hosting specials for a new Internet Network called WWW.QuiltersTV.com. Technologically, it is much more advanced than the other web TV shows. It is an entire TV web network. At any given time you can pick what you want to watch from a menu of about 15 shows. Each day the list changes and you can click on a menu to view the week’s upcoming shows. The shows range from special interest segments, new shows taped for web TV and copies your favorite TV shows such as Quilting from the Heartland. Over the past weeks they’ve aired Quilt Central TV shows that I hosted with Janie, and also dozens of the special interviews I taped for the network at the Road to California show in January. The great thing about this web TV is you can watch the show over and over and it is FREE! And Internet TV goes all over the world to any person with a high speed internet connection. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter. It is packed with great stories and ideas. Also, if you have an event you think they should cover, there is a place on their website for you to contact them. I’ve had many wonderful experiences over the last year. The highlight was when I went “downunder” for over a month in the summer – their winter. I spent several weeks first in New Zealand teaching at a large, beautiful store called Grandmother’s Garden in Hamilton, (www.grandmothersgarden.com), always a delight to spend time with the Kiwi’s. Then I went onto Melbourne, Australia where I was joined by my husband, Michael Lilly. He reunited with his college roommate whilst (that’s how they talk in Australian) I taught quilting at a quaint shop called Michele’s. I also taught up in Brisbane before returning to the USA. Great trip. I’ve already had a busy schedule this year. In January, I Judged, taught workshops, lectured, and taped QuiltersTV at the large Road to California show. A week later I taught three days out of seven days on a Quilting Cruise around the Hawaiian Islands (yes, my husband came along for this “working” event). During the next months I was on the mainland several times teaching/lecturing for quilting guilds and last month, as always, I enjoyed teaching at the International Quilt Festival in Chicago. My husband and I are leaving in 4 days to spend 3 weeks in Croatia on vacation. We’ve read up on the country, but I’m still not sure what to expect; food, fabric, shopping? I’m very excited and will write a newsletter shortly after we get home to fill you in on the adventure. Shortly after Croatia I have two events that will precede my next newsletter, they are the Sew/Quilt Expos in Cincinnati in June and Saratoga Springs in July www.sewexpo.com, you can go to their web site for information. In the next newsletter I’ll fill you in on my other upcoming events such as a very exciting 10 day cruise to Mexico next February, which will book up in advance so don’t wait too long, www.groupseminarsatsea.com, www.quiltcruises.com. And I have several new books in the works in which you may want to participate, especially a Snippet Sensation Landscape book, more details in the next letter. Thank you for all your support over the years. Write me at: cindyquilter@aol.com. Aloha, Cindy Walter |
